Worldwide President, BD Medication Management Solutions

Michael Garrison is the Worldwide President of the Medication Management Solutions (MMS) business unit. MMS is a global leader in medication management with market-leading product lines such as BD Pyxis™ (Pyxis ES, Pyxis IV Prep, Pyxis Logistics), BD Rowa™, BD Alaris™ Infusion Solutions, and the BD HealthSight™ platform for enterprise medication management.  The mission of MMS is to lead in delivering innovative solutions and value-added services that transform medication management to be safer, simpler, and smarter.

Dr. Garrison joined BD in 2005. In his previous role he was the Worldwide President for BD’s Surgery business unit, supporting the integration of Bard into BD. Prior to that he has held roles as WW VP Infusion Systems for MMS, WW VP R&D for Medical Surgical Systems, Sr. Business Director, WW Hypodermic and Anesthesia Systems, Business Director, Anesthesia and Critical Care Systems, and Director, Advanced Technology. Dr. Garrison has also successfully served as an ambassador for the company with external partners such as the US HHS, BARDA, CDC, UNICEF, Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation, and as part of BDs support of the 2011 Haiti Vaccination Campaign.  Prior to BD, Dr. Garrison held roles of increasing technology and commercial roles in drug delivery, diagnostics, and cardiovascular care with Cygnus Therapeutic Systems, Roche Diagnostics Corporation and Edwards Life Sciences LLC. Dr. Garrison has twenty-five years of experience in research, product development, business development, marketing, and general management.

Dr. Garrison holds a BSE and MSE in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University, Durham, NC and a Ph.D., Bioengineering from University of Washington, Seattle, WA. He is an Associate Adjunct Professor of Bioengineering at the University of Washington and a member of the University of Washington, Department of Bioengineering Industrial Advisory Board and the Advisory Board of the Center for Dialysis Innovation.  He is also a Member of the Board of Governors for Biocom California, the association representing the California life science industry. Dr. Garrison is a living kidney donor, April 2018.
